Eastern Palliative Care is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers home-based palliative care to clients and their families living within the Eastern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne.

Eastern Palliative Care established an Occupational Therapy Service in 2018 and are excited to be growing our successful team. We are currently looking for OTs who have experience and/or an interest in working in palliative care. This is a great opportunity to be part of a positive, supportive and enthusiastic interdisciplinary team.

One of OT roles is a Specialist Support role, which is a source of clinical expertise for the organisation:

  • providing clinical advice, consultation and expertise
  • sharing knowledge and providing education, information, resources and training
  • contributing to program and skill development
  • promoting the discipline across the organisation
  • developing and contributing to evaluation, research and quality activities
  • contributing to consistent and coordinated evidence based policies, processes and practices
  • providing home based OT assessment and intervention to clients within an interdisciplinary team model

To be successful for a permanent part-time role, you will have: ESSENTIAL:

  • Bachelor Of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
  • Eligibility of membership with the Association of OT Australia
  • Evidence of current registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • SWEP Registration
  • Previous experience in palliative care or community health setting
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence and autonomy
  • High level organisation and time management skills
  • Understanding and experience of pressure care management and resources
  • Understanding and experience of prescribing lifters and transfer aids.
  • Police Check and Working With Children Check


  • SWEP Registration
  • Experience with or an interest in palliative care
  • Understanding and experience of pressure care management and resources

To be successful in the Specialist Support role, in addition, you will have:

  • Specialist experience in palliative care and/or experience in a clinical leadership role
  • Experience is developing clinical resources and providing clinical supervision, education and mentoring
  • Experience in service development including evaluation, review, research and quality activities
